On the 25th January 2023 at the Johari Rotana Hotel in Dar es Salaam, the Managing Advocate of MDM Law Group launched his book titled “Comprehensive Issues of Employment and Labour Law: Practice for Modern Business in Tanzania”.

The event was officiated by the Minister for Constitution and Legal Affairs, Dr, Damas Daniel Ndumbaro.

The book is centrally focused on discussing matters in relations employment and labour relations law which is basically human resources management which is a very important function in every organization. Without human resources management, companies would not be able to effectively recruit and retain employees, improve and enhance the organization, and they wouldn’t be able to maintain a healthy, accepting workplace culture and environment. Additionally human resources is a costly element for any business and with our current laws should compliance not be taken into account a company will have to deal with all associated costs as part of their human resources budget.

With the aid of this book as a working tool an organisation will be able to better manage its human resources at both a legal and human resources perspective as essentially all areas of have been discussed from aspects of formation of contracts, employer-employee rights, duties and liabilities, minimum employment standards, dispute resolution mechanisms and procedures both within the organisation and the institutional framework of dispute settlements as provided by law, challenges relation to employment termination in Tanzania, requisite procedures to be followed, disciplinary measures, social security schemes, workmen’s compensation, employment of foreign nationals and procedures for procurement of work and residence permits among other matters have been address.
